Unless you have been living under a rock or do not know a single sentient black person, you are aware of the two recent grand jury decisions that have allowed the unchecked execution of Michael Brown and Eric Garner by police officers (which says nothing of the countless other executions of black men and women at the hands of the police). In light of the blatant disregard for black life shown by those who are supposed to protect and serve, I have found it difficult to post about my music and really to do much of anything lately. For many of us, this news is devastating, exhausting, and depressing in ways that are difficult to articulate even as we march and express solidarity with one another. Still, I have been able to find some peace in the creation of new music for my next (currently untitled) project. See below for a snippet of a new track I’m working on called “Comments Disabled” about internet thuggery. Leave a comment and some love if you like what you hear, while keeping in mind of course that everything is subject to change!
