I’ve been on auto-pilot lately but I had to snap out of it to share some sad news you may not have heard. On Tuesday June 20th, the world lost South African songstress Sathima Bea Benjamin.  Aside from making amazing music, and birthing the incomparable Jean Grae, her voice is the first voice you hear on my first album [M’other Brain], on the track “Anything.” I remember being struck by how beautiful her voice sounded after hearing “Africa” and knew I had to  produce something amazing. I hope she would enjoy the end product. RIP.
